Dress Code

The Kids City LLC dress code poilcy applies to all staff including management.

The Kids City LLC dress code policy is designed to provide a consistent professional appearance to our customers and colleagues. Our appearance reflects ourselves and the company. The goal is to maintain a positive appearance and not to offend customers, clients, or colleagues.

Kids City LLC Dress Code Policy

Employees are expected to dress in black pants, black leggings, or black joggers (strictly black only). Tops must be fitted, clean and wrinkle free. It is optional for staff to wear a long sleeve compression T-shirt under uniform (black only), Kids City can provide one for $10 if needed. Employees must always present a clean, professional appearance. Everyone is expected to be well-groomed and wear clean clothing, free of holes, tears, or other signs of wear. Clothing with offensive or inappropriate designs or stamps are not allowed. Clothing should not be too revealing. Clothing and grooming styles dictated by religion or ethnicity are exempt. No long nails. Colored nails are okay but no extreme colors. Company issued name tags must be worn at all times while clocked in and on the floor.

Dress Code Violations

Managers or Supervisors are expected to inform employees when they are violating the dress code. Employees in violation are expected to immediately correct the issue. This may include having to leave work to change clothes. Repeated violations or violations that have major repercussions may result in disciplinary action being taken up to and including termination.

Cell Phones

Cell Phones are not allowed during business hours. Cell phones must stay in the locker and can be used only on break when clocked out. Touch screen smartwatches may only be used to check the time. Floor Lead / Team Leader may use a phone in case there is broken equipment that needs to be photographed to show Manager/ supervisor on duty. Phones are not allowed to be charged in the charging station at Station 2, it is only for guests.

Attendance

Scheduling

Once the schedule is posted and you have confirmed your shifts, you will be responsible to work the shifts you agreed to. If you are unable to work any of your scheduled shifts, you must find coverage by swapping shifts with another employee who is available to cover. For any obligation that occurs weekly between Monday and Friday, you can update your availability in the app by selecting “availability” from the menu. You can only mark yourself “unavailable” between Monday and Friday for school, 2nd job, if you must provide childcare for your own children or siblings, or other obligations that occur on a weekly basis.  Otherwise, you must use “Time Off Request” for one-time or nonrecurring time off requests unless you have a permanent set schedule. You must be available to work at least one weekend shift.  Any unavailable times on Saturday & Sunday must use “Time Off Request” unless you have a permanent set schedule.

Time Off Requests

“Time Off Requests” are to be used for traveling, doctor or dentist appointments, birthdays, etc. To put in a “Time Off Request” click on “My Requests” under option in the menu. You will be able to select the (+) and add your request off. Time Off Requests must be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance. Your request must include an explanation, or it will be automatically denied.  Example: “need off for doctor’s appointment” or “celebrating my mom's birthday” If you need to take off both Saturday & Sunday, please submit a time off request with a detailed reason for the exception. We do not normally allow time off on both Saturday & Sunday. Time off requests are granted on a first come first serve basis, they are not guaranteed.  Especially during busy times such as school breaks, holidays, etc. DO NOT BOOK TRIPS UNTIL YOUR TIME OFF REQUEST HAS BEEN APPROVED BY A MANGER.

Calling Off

Calling off for a NON-EMERGENCY is not acceptable.  Calling off on the day of is only acceptable for illnesses and valid EMERGENCIES.  It will require supporting documentation (example: emergency room note).  Call off should be done by phone call to the manager on duty, if you are unable to call yourself someone must call for you. Calling off sick for more than 2 consecutive days will require proof or documentation such as a doctor’s note.  Calling off sick frequently may affect your performance.  If you become ill, the best practice is to look for your replacement as soon as possible and inform your manager.

Clocking In and Out

If you have any issues clocking in or out (example: forgot, connection issues, etc.) reach out to your Supervisor/Manager through Kakao Talk so they can fix your time.  Please also message them even if you told them verbally to keep a record and in case they forget. To review your timesheet, click on the “Attendance” option from the menu, then choose the date. You will be able to see if you clocked in and out in real time.  If corrections are not noticed and reported in time, hours may be paid in the following pay period.

No Shows

No shows during the probationary period are not accceptable and will result in immediate termination.

Resignation

Resignation requires 2 weeks' notice.

Probation Period

Probation period is your first 90 days of employment starting with your first day of employment.  If you are on probation and trying to call off for an emergency situation, please bring any type of proof that you are not physically able to work. If you are sick so that you cannot come to work physically, you will need to go to see a doctor and provide us with a doctor's note. A minor headache is not an emergency situation, you may still come to work and the manager/supervisor will determine whether you may leave early depending on the situation. One call off during probation can lead to termination as our company takes attendance very seriously and we believe it is a basic work ethic to work anywhere. Calling off without letting a manager/supervisor know also known as a “no call no show” will result in immediate termination.

After Probation Perod

Warning : More than 5 minutes late and/or call off 2 consecutive days without any proof. 1)  verbal warning. 2) written warning. 3) final warning and you will be put on probation. 4) you will be terminated.

Confidentiality

You understand and agree to keep any and all information confidential regarding the business plans, inventions, designs, products, services, processes, trade secrets, copyrights, trademarks, customer information, customer lists, prices, analytics, data, costs, affairs, and any other information that could be considered proprietary to Kids City LLC (“Confidential Information”). The employee understands that disclosure of any such Confidential Information, either directly or indirectly, shall result in litigation with the Employer divulging Confidential information to a third party with the Employer shall be entitled any and all reimbursement for their legal and attorney fees.

Confidential and Proprietary Information

In the course of employment, the Employee will be exposed to confidential and proprietary information of the Employer. Confidential and proprietary information shall mean any date or information that is competitively sensitive material and not generally known to the public, including but not limited to, information relating to development and plans, marketing strategies, finance, operations, systems, proprietary, concepts, documentation, reports, data, specifications, computer software, source code, object code, flow charts, data, databases, inventions, know-how, trade secrets, customer lists, customer relationships, customer profiles, supplier lists, supplier relationships, supplier profiles, pricing, sales estimates, business plans and internal performance results relating to the past, present or future business activities, technical information, design, process, procedure, formula, or improvement, which Employer considers confidential and proprietary. Employee acknowledges and agrees that the confidential and proprietary information is valuable property of Employer, developed over a long period of time at substantial expense and that it is worthy of protection.

Confidentiality Obligations

Except as otherwise expressly permitted in this Agreement, the Employee shall not disclose or use in any manner, directly or indirectly, any confidential and proprietary information either during the term of this Agreement or any time thereafter, except as required to perform their duties and responsibilities or with the Employer’s prior written consent.

Misconduct & Insubordination

Misconduct and insubordination are subject to warning or termination depending on its severity

Misconduct in the workplace is when an employee fails to perform properly or neglects their duties in a substantial disregard of the employer’s interests.  Examples of misconduct are frequent absence or lateness, leaving early without notice, dishonesty, abuse of company equipment, harassment or bullying, violating health and safety duties, breach of confidentiality, unprofessional conduct, rude and disrespectful behavior towards customers, colleagues, and superiors.  These behaviors include cursing, verbal or physical intimidation, personal insults, eye rolling or mocking, abusive language, as well as speaking loudly or argumentative especially in front of others and customers.  General misconduct even unintentionally may result in disciplinary procedures.  Gross misconduct such as illegal activity or a serious breach of company policy is a severe infraction that may result in immediate termination.  Insubordination in the workplace refers to an employee's refusal to obey an employer's lawful and reasonable orders. Insubordination may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.  Employer’s orders include verbal instructions, written instructions, and the duties in Kids City’s job description.  Employee acknowledgments can be verbal, nonverbal (nodding) or the acceptance of Kids City job offer.  An employee's unwillingness to carry out a directive can be a verbal refusal, a nonverbal refusal or an unreasonable delay in completing the work.  If you refuse to carry out an order for fear of danger or an unsafe work environment, please inform your supervisor and your case will be reviewed individually. Employees are expected to show professionalism and respect towards others, abide by Kids City company policies and procedures as detailed in our new hire manual and this company policy.

Violation of Company Policy

Written warnings will be issued for violations of our company policy

First and second violations will result in written warnings. Third violation will result in a written warning and probation. Fourth warning will result in termination. Depending on the severity of violation, Kids City has the right to immediate termination.
